COACHING FOR BRILLIANTLY MESSY MINDS
Whether it’s ADHD, burnout, or just the quirks of a brilliant mind, the messiness of a creative brain can hold us back — unless we learn to work with it!

Creative people also have messy processes.”

Hi. I’m Summer Varde
As an architect, I spent the first 20 years of my career working for high profile and boutique architecture firms in Los Angeles.
Despite what could be considered an impressive resume, I really struggled. I worked myself too hard and still couldn’t keep up. I was frequently confused and nearly always overwhelmed. Personal and professional relationships floundered. Impostor syndrome was real. So was the anxiety.
After being diagnosed with ADHD in my mid-30s, I experienced life-changing growth in therapy. Eventually, I was able to juggle more work and experience more happiness than I thought possible. Through the process, I became fascinated with career happiness, ADHD and how the brain works. I guess you could say – I deeply understand the paradoxical struggle of creative professionals. For people like us, it’s hard to be both the artist and the manager.
Architects are both idealistic dreamers and questioning fact finders. For me, this thinking carries over into coaching. My coaching utilizes evidence-based techniques from psychology, behavioral science and neuroscience. Within this framework, I help my clients to both analyze pragmatic details, and to delve into the visual, emotional and allegorical places of the mind in order to solve problems, achieve goals and grow as human beings.
As a professional coach, I help my clients develop strategies to work through:
Deadlines
Decisions
Disorganization
Unfinished projects
Overwork and overwhelm
Relationships
Impostor syndrome
Self-esteem issues
Anxiety
I trained at the highly respected (and ICF accredited) MentorCoach program in ADHD Coaching, Positive Psychology Coaching and Life Coaching.
In addition to my work as a professional coach, I’m also a seasoned and award-winning architect in the Los Angeles area. I know what it’s like, and I want to help you to create a successful, creative life and career with a beautiful, messy, scattered brain.
